Position Summary

Under the direction of the radiology administrator or designee, the Radiology Associate is responsible for communication, registration, and scheduling for various radiology procedures. The role includes performing all clerical duties such as receiving and logging patient information, scheduling, filing, typing, transporting, answering phones, and providing backup support in the radiology department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and adhere to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
  • Follow scheduling policies and notify staff of any schedule changes.
  • Work in emergencies or when needed, including holidays, overtime, and shift coverage.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment; report malfunctions.
  • Print CDs as needed.
  • Perform routine office tasks, including answering phones and documenting patient information in hospital systems.
  • Notify transport when patients are ready for pickup or return.
  • May serve as instructor or preceptor.
  • Provide age-appropriate care based on patient populations.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services; perform other duties as required.
  • Prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Follow up on customer service and satisfaction matters.
  • Inform supervisor of supplies needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school Diploma/GED required.
  • Basic knowledge of typing, computers, and medical terminology.
  • Motivated, positive, with strong communication and organizational skills preferred.

Core Competencies include:

  • English communication skills, ability to remain calm under stress, teamwork, professionalism, assessment skills, attention to detail, planning, problem-solving, and stress tolerance.

Physical and Mental Demands include exposure to chemicals, ability to remain stationary, operate computers, communicate with staff, and retrieve documents.

Primary Population Served includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and special populations with specific needs.

Salary Range: $39,923.72 - $59,885.48 (full-time equivalent)
