SIMEDHealth's Gainesville imaging center seeks a Full Time Radiology Assistant to support radiology teams. You will assist with imaging procedures, manage patient information, and ensure smooth room preparation with attention to safety and privacy.

The role emphasizes clerical accuracy, effective communication with patients and families, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines while collaborating with physicians and technologists to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (must obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Solid understanding of Medical Terminology.
• 2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting.
• Familiarity with Intergy or similar EMR systems is a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer use.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential assistance during imaging studies and diagnostic procedures.
• Performing clerical tasks, including accurate completion of patient information on study tech sheets.
• Preparing the imaging room to be ready for each study.
• Verifying patient identity using two identifiers.
• Delivering high-quality customer service by explaining procedures to patients and families.
• Assisting with safe and comfortable patient transfers.
• Positioning patients for comfort and privacy.
• Maintaining clean, organized exam and dressing rooms.
• Communicating professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Reviewing imaging orders for completeness and adherence to criteria.
• Maintaining HIPAA-compliant patient confidentiality.
• Managing required patient forms and EMR data.
