Job summary

Shields Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Radiologist Assistant to support radiology procedures and provide high-quality patient care. You will assist with various diagnostic radiology exams, prepare and monitor patients, and ensure radiation safety and compliance during imaging.

Under supervision, you will evaluate images, dictate reports, and review orders to determine exam appropriateness. ARRT registration and MA licensure are required, with a focus on MRI procedures and patient-centered

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited RRA/RPA program.
• Registered as an Radiologist Assistant with ARRT.
• Licensed as Radiologist Assistant in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologist by supporting diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Assist with performing diagnostic radiology procedures/exams under supervision.
• Administer and/or order IV meds and contrast media under supervision.
• Evaluate medical images, review preliminary reports with supervising radiologist.
• Dictate technical reports reviewed by supervising radiologist.
• Verify clinician orders and determine exam appropriateness.
• Review images and provide feedback of studies performed by the radiologist.
• Gain consents, handle pre/post procedure orders, and dictate in PACS.
• Be proficient in performing arthrograms.

Job Description: Job Summary The Radiologist Assistant will assist the Radiologist by supporting diagnostic imagining procedures and providing excellent patient care. They will assist with performing radiologic exams, preparing and monitoring patients, documenting clinical information, and ensuring high-quality imaging results while maintaining radiation safety and healthcare compliance standards.

Job Tasks

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide excellent patient care.
• Under the direct supervision and guidance of a radiologist, perform various diagnostic radiology procedures/exams.
• Administers and/or orders intravenous medication and contrast media, under the supervision of a Radiologist.
• Evaluates medical images, reviews preliminary reports and images with a supervising Radiologist.
• Dictates technical reports that will be reviewed and signed off by the supervising Radiologist.
• Verify and review referring clinician's order prior to performing exam and determine appropriateness of exam/procedure ordered.
• Reviews images and provides feedback of studies performed by the supervising radiologist.
• Responsible for gaining consents for procedures, pre/post procedure order-writing, and dictating in PACS.
• Must be proficient in performing arthrograms.

Educational Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree Graduation from an accredited RRA/RPA formal education program
• Registered as a Radiologist Assistant by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
• Licensed as a Radiologist Assistant in the State of Massachusetts
