Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Radiology Aide for the Radiology Unit. The role involves greeting patients, coordinating with radiologists, documenting in EMR/PACS, processing releases of information, and assisting with patient transport.

The position supports scheduling and reporting activities within a faith-based health system. The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, with 1 year of x-ray school preferred and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients as they arrive at the front desk.
• Answers and places telephone calls to and from radiologists to facilitate urgent results reporting.
• Documents procedures in EMR, PACS, and other IT systems.
• Burns CDs and processes Release of Information requests accurately.
• Resolves scheduling conflicts and adds patients to facilitate care.
• Faxes and calls reports to referring physicians’ offices.
• Assists with patient transport as needed.
• Provides coverage for the Reading Room Assistant when absent.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement projects and other duties as assigned.

Education

As a Radiology Aide, you will:

• Greets patients as they arrive at the front desk.
• Answers and places telephone calls to and from radiologists in order to facilitate urgent results reporting.
• Properly documents these procedures in the appropriate system (EMR, PACS, other IT systems).
• Burns CD and processes Release of Information requests accurately.
• Resolves scheduling conflicts and add on patients in order to facilitate excellent care.
• Faxes and calls reports to referring physicians offices.
• Assists with patient transport as needed.
• Provides coverage for the Reading Room Assistant as necessary in their absence.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year of x-ray school, preferred
