Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Technologist Aide in Diagnostic Radiology to assist the Registered Technologist with portable imaging and other exams, room prep, patient transport, and day-to-day tasks to keep the department running smoothly.

You’ll support patient care through empathetic interactions, maintain safety standards, handle equipment cleaning, inventory, and communication, and help with codes and emergencies as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good interpersonal and patient care skills required.
• Previous patient care or customer service experience a plus; on-the-job training available.
• Ability to assist in portable imaging and other department exams.
• Willingness to follow department policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares room and patient for procedure.
• Interacts empathetically with patients.
• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies.
• Communicates information through computers and phone/paging systems.
• Notifies supervisory personnel of shortages or issues.
• Identifies patient prior to procedures using established policies (AIDET).
• Supports radiation safety and wears required film badges.
• Cleans and organizes room after procedures; assists with equipment cleaning.
• Assists with emergency codes (Code 99, Code Red).
• Assists in moving patients and transporting between stations.
