Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Radiology Physician Assistant at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX. The Radiology PA supports radiologists with imaging-guided procedures, patient prep, and post-procedure care in a busy radiology service line.

Requirements include a PA degree, TX license, NCCPA certification, and BLS/ACLS; RPA/ARRT credentials are a plus. Full-time, day shift with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within the Prime Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Graduate PA program with certification.
• Minimum 3 years clinical radiology or interventional experience.
• Current Texas PA license and NCCPA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Credentialing by HMC Medical Staff Office.
• RPA designation preferred but not required.
• ARRT certification or RPA/ARRT eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists with image-guided procedures and set up sterile fields.
• Position patients and provide hands-on support during imaging procedures.
• Review patient history, obtain consent, explain procedures.
• Review imaging studies and discuss impressions with radiologist.
• Order imaging studies as allowed by policy.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Document procedures and patient responses.

We are seekingaRadiology Physician Assistant,sometimesreferred to as a Radiology PA, Radiology Clinician or Diagnostic Imaging Physician Assistant. Radiology Physician Assistant (Radiology PA) is a specially trained physician assistant who works inour clinicto support radiologists in diagnosing and treating patients.OurRadiology Physician Assistant may perform imaging-related procedures, take patient histories,assistwith image-guided interventions, explain procedures to patients, and help interpret imaging results under the supervision of a radiologist.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assistradiologists with image-guided procedures, help set up sterile fields, positions patients, andprovidehands-on support during procedures that use imaging guidance like ultrasound, CT,or X-ray

• Review the patient’s medical history, answers questions, obtain consent whenrequired, and ensure the patient understands what to expect before starting the procedure

• Reviewimaging studies,identifyobvious abnormalities, and discuss preliminaryimpressionswith the supervising radiologist to supporttimelydiagnosis and patient care

• Orderappropriate imagingstudies as allowed by state regulations and facility policy

• Monitorpatients before, during, and after radiologic procedures

• Enter detailed notes on procedures performed, patient responses, imaging results, and follow-up recommendations tomaintainaccurateand complete medical documentation

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with certification.2. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in radiology or interventional specialties.3. Prior experience with fluoroscopy or image-guided procedures.4. Current Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board.5. Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).6. BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC) required upon hire and maintained.7. Must be credentialed and privileged by the HMC Medical Staff Office.8. Certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) designation preferred but not required if experience aligns with scope.9. Certified Radiology Practitioner (RPA) or Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
