BOARD-CERTIFIED RADIOLOGIST

Columbia, SC

Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) is seekingBoard-Certified Radiologiststo support the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. These Radiologists will provide full-time, on-site diagnostic and interventional radiology services in alignment with American College of Radiology (ACR) standards and VA directives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Providing a full range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiography
  • Interpreting studies and performing procedures in subspecialties including: Abdominal/GU, Breast Imaging, Cardiovascular, General, Interventional, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, and Nuclear Medicine (Authorized User preferred)
  • Collaborating with referring providers to ensure timely communication of imaging results and clinical consultation
  • Supervising and mentoring Health Professions Trainees (HPTs) within the Radiology department
  • Accurately documenting all services within the VA’s electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Participating in rotating on-call coverage (weeknights, weekends, and holidays), with 24/7 phone availability and 60-minute on-site response when on duty

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. with an active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
  • DEA registration and active NPI with appropriate taxonomy code
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • U.S. citizenship required in accordance with federal contract guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successful completion of all VA-mandated onboarding and annual training requirements (e.g., HIPAA, EHR use, infection control, ethics, patient safety)
  • Documentation of occupational health compliance, including:
  • TB screening (TST or IGRA) or chest x-ray
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Tdap
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Annual Influenza vaccine (or approved exemption with mask usage)
  • Must be available for full-time onsite coverage, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
  • On-call coverage rotation required:
  • Weekdays: 4:30 PM–8:00 AM
  • Weekends: 4:30 PM Friday – 8:00 AM Monday
  • On-call physician must be reachable by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 60 minutes when needed
