Job Description

Perform radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology protocols.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine radiological procedures.
  2. Apply technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies per written protocols and patient needs.
  3. Assist, prepare, and position patients for radiological procedures.
  4. Educate patients about imaging procedures, including instructions and expectations.
  5. Label radiographic images appropriately as per department SOP.
  6. Use shielding techniques and radiation protection measures to minimize exposure.
  7. Assist physicians as required.
  8. Evaluate radiographs for technical quality and transmit images to PACS promptly.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of radiology room and equipment.
  10. Manage supplies and accessories necessary for imaging procedures.
  11. Record patient tracking information accurately in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
  12. Schedule exams and ensure timely completion of studies in IDX.
  13. Call in-patients as needed and perform clerical duties in support of radiology operations.
  14. Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  15. Supervise radiology students in the clinical area.
  16. Adhere to infection control policies to prevent the spread of infection.
  17. Attend professional development and in-service meetings.

Maintain valid licensure as required by New York State, including adherence to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a recognized radiologic technology program.
  • Six months to one year of related experience or completion of a radiology training program within 6 months of employment.
  • Current NY State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license or temporary permit pending examination.

Compensation

The hourly salary range is $44.30 - $54.05, depending on experience and qualifications. This role qualifies for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
