Description

Summary/Objective:
Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to work in our fast-paced clinic and orthopedic urgent care. Candidate will cross train in cast/splint application and patient intake.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
    1. Protects patient, self, and other staff members from radiation hazards.
  2. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
    1. Involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
    2. Understand doctors’ orders, protocols, and requests from other clinical staff.
    3. Includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
    4. Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis.
    5. Adjusts/sets radiographic controls.
    6. Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patient’s body as requested by physicians.
    7. Checks X-rays for clarity of image, retaking when needed.
  3. Maintains required records including patient records, daily logbooks, and monthly reports.
    1. Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
    2. Complies with safety standards.
  4. Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
  5. Maintains and records radiographic supplies.
  6. Basic knowledge of cast and splint application and removal. Training will be provided.
  7. Interview patient and document a well-detailed progress note for providers.
  8. Collect all pertinent information from patients including medications, allergies, vitals, and past medical history.
  9. Prepares patients for examinations, including suture/staple removal.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists licensure.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to Walk/Stand frequently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as EPIC.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Superior Customer Service Skills.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication.
