Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of health physics fundamentals, including radiation transport, shielding, dose assessment, and radionuclide behavior.
  • Ability to apply established radiological codes, methods, and quality standards to produce accurate, defensible work.
  • Clear technical writing suited to calculations and analysis records subject to review and audit.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable site access, safety training, security, background, and export-control requirements; U.S. person status required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform source term and radionuclide transport calculations supporting design and safety evaluations.
  • Conduct shielding and dose rate calculations for plant areas, equipment, and shipping configurations.
  • Support effluent and airborne release evaluations against regulatory dose limits.
  • Prepare calculation packages and analysis records that satisfy quality assurance and independent review requirements
  • Support model validation by comparing analytical results against measured or benchmark data
  • Escalate anomalous results or apparent limit exceedances to the responsible engineer rather than resolving them informally
