Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform X-ray exams, assist physicians, and ensure image quality with strict radiation safety. You will prepare patients, monitor vital signs, and position them for imaging while adhering to department protocols.

The role may involve weekend shifts and cross-location support. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT-R certification, and Texas MRT license, plus BLS/ALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
• Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R), required.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiography exams on patients with adherence to radiation safety procedures; prepares patients, records vital signs, positions for imaging.
• Selects imaging techniques and ensures high-quality images for physician review.
• Enter and monitor patient data; perform QA on radiology equipment.
• May assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR or other accreditation.
• Identifies accidents or equipment malfunctions and reports to management.
• Assists with emergency call, may work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
• May conduct breath alcohol tests or urine drug screens; may assist with patient registration tasks.
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, ensures safe, compassionate, efficient patient care.
• Supports department goals and participates in ongoing education and competency.
