Job summary

Qualifications

  • AMA‑approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • JRCERT‑accredited program completion.
  • Current ARRT‑R certification.
  • Medical Radiographer license in NE or Diagnostic Radiographer permit in IA.
  • BLS instructor certification at hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide radiological services using standard procedures and ionizing radiation for diagnostics.

Radiologic Technologist – X-Ray

Location: 7100 W Center Rd, Omaha, NE 68106

Role Summary

Provide expert diagnostic radiological imaging and patient care to assure a high level of quality care and service to patients, physicians, and customers in and outside the radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide radiological services by exemplifying the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare the room, equipment, contrast media, and supplies as necessary for each procedure.
  • Perform routine diagnostic radiographic services accurately and competently using predefined department protocols.
  • Perform all procedures offered by the department and demonstrate a willingness to learn new procedures and technologies.
  • Select appropriate exposure and technical parameters in the X‑ray system to provide optimal images.
  • Interact with the patient to address concerns, obtain verbal permission, and respond to any needs stated or unstated.
  • Provide patient education by explaining procedures and radiology processes to patients and families.
  • Ensure protection of patients and others by utilizing radiation exposure reduction techniques such as proper collimation and lead shielding to minimize exposure.
  • Recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action and assist in providing immediate life support measures.
  • Comply with all departmental and organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and safety, security, and infection control policies (OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission).
  • Maintain patient and radiology electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Complete required hours of continuing education to maintain certification in all assigned imaging modalities and complete annual clinical competency assessments.
  • Perform other work assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA‑approved program in Radiologic Technology or have military training in Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program.
  • Current certification as a Radiographer ARRT‑R from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must hold a Medical Radiographer license in NE or a Diagnostic Radiographer permit in IA to practice in the state where employed.
  • BL or BLS instructor certification at hire (e.g., CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, CPR, PRO, or Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers). BLS certification upon unit orientation is also required.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, exposure factor selection, and preparation and administration of contrast media for routine and special procedures.
  • Experience with multidimensional medical imaging systems, patient transportation devices, and radiology information systems including PACS preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet age‑specific needs of the patient population.
