Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technician to perform routine radiology procedures and support radiologists in complex exams. You will prepare patients, administer contrast as needed, and ensure accurate documentation in RIS, PACS, and HIS systems.

A focus on safety, quality images, and timely care is essential. This role requires an Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences, ARRT certification or eligibility within one year, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program; contingency allowed if degree is within 90 days of hire.
• ARRT registration or eligible and registered within 1 year from date of hire; include diploma if registry-eligible.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine radiology procedures and tests to acquire diagnostic data.
• Prepare and assist radiologist in complex procedures; manage contrast media and medications.
• Verify patient identity and orders; ensure correct demographics and imaging data are transmitted to PACS/RIS.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and equipment; document procedures and incidents for supervisor review.
• Use RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS to access and document procedure status.
• Assess patient condition, provide care, and respond to emergencies when needed.
