Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for weekend coverage in Georgia. The part-time position requires Saturday and Sunday shifts (9:00am–9:30pm), with a $5,000 sign-on and access to Wellstar’s education and career progression programs.

You will join a collaborative care team and ensure high-quality radiology services while maintaining ALARA principles. Ideal candidates have an accredited Radiologic Technology program, High School Diploma or equivalent, ARRT-R

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
• ARRT-R certification preferred; BLS required.

Responsabilidades

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain ALARA by adjusting technique for diagnostic quality and dose.
• Identify patient IDs and verify orders before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET and address questions.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the exam.
• Perform exams and administer contrast as protocol, using sterile technique when applicable.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; help restock equipment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, adjusting technique to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflow to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor.
