Fairview is hiring a Radiology Technologist to join our Medical Imaging Department at our Fairview Medical Center in Princeton, MN! This is a .6 FTE (48 hours per 2 week pay period) position. This shift pattern is primarily a day/evening 8 hour shift with rotating 12 hour day weekend shifts. Currently the weekend rotation is every 5th weekend. There is no call during the week, but you would be expected to take call on the off shift when you work your weekend rotation. There is flexibility to work more evening shifts if desired. This position is eligible for a new hire sign on bonus of up to $6,000!

  • If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3:00PM – 11:00PM, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.

The Radiologic Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

X-ray shifts will include Fluoro exams, c-arm cases in surgery, DEXA exams, ED/inpatients, Med/Surg/ICU and rotating to the Specialty Care Clinic for Imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient care
  • Performs examinations
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
  • Participates in creating a culture of patient safety and d emonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
  • Ensures patient data integrity
  • Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner
  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Participates as an active team member
  • Orients and mentors new employees and students
  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
  • Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies
  • Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly
  • Maintains a high level of competency
  • Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility
  • Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
  • Demonstrates Commitment to Customers, Fellow Employees and Fairview

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT Certification/Registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience as a technologist
