Job summary

WakeMed is seeking a Radiologic Technologist Team Lead to provide high-quality patient care at Cary Hospital. This role includes overseeing diagnostic imaging workflows and serving as a resource for staff training and support.

About This Role

Radiologic Technologist who enjoys leading by example and keeping patient care at the center of everything will thrive as a Team Lead at WakeMed Cary Hospital.

As a Radiology Team Lead you will support the daily workflow of the diagnostic imaging section, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and compassionate services across the shift. You will act as both a hands‑on technologist and a go‑to resource for teammates, guiding workflow, supporting training, and elevating the overall patient and team experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily workflow of diagnostic imaging services on your assigned shift.
  • Serve as the point person for staff when supervisors or managers are not present, ensuring consistent operations and timely patient care.
  • Support the orientation, education, and ongoing training of Radiology employees, partnering closely with management.
  • Function as a liaison between team members and leadership, helping communicate priorities, updates, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient safety, service quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in safety and quality initiatives, including programs designed to reduce error and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain your role as a practicing technologist, demonstrating high standards of clinical quality and patient‑centered care.
Experience
  • 6 months of clinical radiology experience – Required
  • 3 years of clinical radiology experience – Required
  • Leadership experience – Preferred
Licensure & Credentials
  • Registered Technologist – Radiography (ARRT) – Required
