Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Kentucky is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to deliver imaging services in Radiology. This full-time position is 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) with weekend requirements and works on site.

You will position patients, select exposure factors, adhere to ALARA, assist physicians, and manage contrast media within regulatory scope. Requires education and licensure within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Science or related field required upon hire.
• RT(R) license or equivalent required within 12 months of employment with Kentucky regulations.
• No prior experience required for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

• Positions patients and selects exposure factors accurately.

• Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Assists the physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
• May be required to prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Responsible for setting up and providing equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.

Skills and Attributes:

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Works under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Licensure/Certification/Registration RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required within 12 months of employment in this role AND Temporary Radiation License through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) required upon hire OR RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
