Job Summary:

Provide Radiology services to patients in accordance with physician orders. Ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality imaging. Prepare Radiology rooms for patient procedures, develop images, maintain supply levels, and ensure diagnostic equipment is properly maintained within manufacturer specifications. Operate equipment efficiently and safely, exercising professional judgment in diagnostic services. Apply knowledge of growth and development principles to meet the needs of patients of all ages. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills: treat customers with courtesy and respect, communicate effectively, provide efficient service, and maintain professionalism at all times. Commit to self-improvement and uphold strict patient and staff confidentiality.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality general radiographic and specialty images using clinical protocols. Position patients to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, respecting their comfort and ability. Demonstrate knowledge to perform general radiographic and specialty procedures with radiological equipment. Obtain images following proper radiographic techniques and evaluate their quality, ensuring proper identification. Provide radiology services including patient education for all age groups: geriatrics, adults, adolescents, and pediatrics. Contact physicians for discrepancies and follow radiology policies and procedures for order changes. Adhere to safety protocols including PPE, Universal Precautions, Medical Waste, Infection Control, and OSHA policies.

  • Accurately input patient information into electronic medical records, including RIS. Prepare the patient record for the procedure, establish patient identification according to policy, observe during procedures, and report any unusual occurrences or changes. Check for allergies and respond to contrast reactions per policy.

  • Provide timely, responsive, and friendly service to patients, physicians, and staff. Communicate delays and procedures clearly. Promote patient-focused care, including preparation, scheduling, and patient education. Maintain confidentiality and communicate results appropriately.

  • Maintain safe radiation levels at all times, following safety policies. Perform equipment checks prior to use to ensure safety. Adhere to standards and suggest improvements for patient outcomes. Complete quality assurance and safety activities as required.

  • Arrive prepared for shifts, take breaks appropriately, and leave on time. Keep radiology rooms neat, clean, and stocked. Assist in training and orienting new staff, monitor workflow, and participate in policy development. Communicate concerns to leadership. Work effectively as part of a team, including rotating shifts and assignments such as surgery and portables.
