Job description

Job Summary:

To provide diagnostic services in a hospital and/or clinical setting, to include clerical duties as required. To perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concepts and reflects the KPNW Mission and philosophy.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Performing diagnostic radiological procedures, utilizing diagnostic radiographic equipment.
  2. Using skills and abilities required for age of patient served to include: routine, emergent, portable, surgical and fluoroscopic examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  3. Image processing.
  4. Understand and use the current RIS and PACS system.
  5. Work under the supervision of radiologist on an as needed basis.
  6. Work with radiologist on film Quality Assurance and exam clarification.
  7. Perform ECG (as required).
  8. Patient transport.
  9. File work.
  10. Restock supplies and clean.
  11. Responsible for patient registration and patient scheduling.
  12. Participate in an on-call or standby schedule as required.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience:

N/A

Education:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration:

  1. Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) OR Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington).
  2. Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire.
  3. Radiologic Technologist Certification required at hire from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Daily use of diagnostic equipment, imaging and health care computer system.
  2. Demonstrates customer-focused service skills.
  3. Ability to use and apply excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all personnel.
  4. Proficient knowledge of radiology equipment and exams to perform fluoroscopy, DXA, surgery, portable and routine radiographic exams.
  5. Organizational skills; time management, prioritization, planning; attention to detail; problem solving, decision making, judgment; technical skills; initiative, communication, interpersonal skills, customer relations, organizational relations.
  6. Adaptability; following Policies and Procedures; flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience performing general radiographic exams using digital equipment within the last three (3) years.
  2. Experience with McKesson PACS.
  3. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
  4. Associates degree in Radiologic Science or related field.

Notes:

This is an on-call position that will support the operations for the Mid-Valley Service Area.
