Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in New York seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiology procedures under a Radiologist's supervision, ensuring imaging quality and patient safety. You will handle imaging, documentation, and scheduling to meet patient needs.

Candidates must graduate from AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, possess ARRT registry and NY license eligibility, and maintain CPR. English communication and familiarity with radiology equipment are required.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a Radiologist, perform Radiology procedures at a technical level with minimal supervision.
  • Perform imaging and documentation procedures to support radiologic diagnosis.
  • Prioritize patient safety protocols throughout imaging processes.
  • Serve as the first line interface with patients and customers for imaging needs.
  • Assist in department examinations and scheduling to ensure timely exams.
  • Operate radiology equipment and related hardware/software.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
  • Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

Location: Samaritan Medical Center Department: 01.7329 SMC DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLGY Pay Range: $32.67 - $47.23

  • Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs various Radiology Services procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Performs a variety of imaging and documentation procedures, including Radiology procedures, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • and is responsible for patient safety protocols.
  • Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
  • Assists in various department examinations as ordered by physician.
  • Assists in the department and its function.
  • Assists in the scheduling of patients to the completion of the exam.
  • Performs procedures and operates equipment at a technical level.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
  • Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
  • Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a Technologist.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Education Requirement : Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum Experience Requirement : Possesses knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Maintains all registries and licenses required by state and federal law.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Department specific training.
  • Proficiency with most major Radiology equipment, manufacturer’s hardware and software.
  • Ability to comply with on- call specifics.
  • Minimum License Requirement : Maintains registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Is currently eligible for and/or holding a New York State license in Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support Credentials (CPR) – Required within 90 days of hire.
