Job summary

Qualifications

  • California CRT license with fluoroscopy permit; permit must be obtained within 12 months of hire if graduate before 2011.
  • BLS certification not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and report suspected violations.
  • Obtain comprehensive medical information to identify age-specific needs.
  • Perform radiographic procedures with high technical quality.
  • Utilize proper radiation protection to safeguard patients.
  • Operate equipment efficiently and report deficiencies to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain x-ray room supplies between exams and at shift end.
  • Execute diagnostic procedures as ordered and assist radiologists during procedures.
  • Take on additional procedures during periods of heavy workload.
  • Document changes in patient condition using appropriate forms.
  • Collect medical history and prepare patients for examination.
  • Perform receptionist and radiology assistant duties as needed.
  • Produce radiographs and follow isolation technique policies.
  • Adhere to ALARA guidelines and Universal Precautions.
  • Develop films as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Radiologic Technologist – Full Time, 40 hours a week. Salary range: $39.04–$59.31 per hour. Shift hours vary (10 hour shift). Department: Radiology. Reports to: Manager or Director. Supervises: None.

Education & Licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or an equivalent program.
  • Required certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). In California, must hold a California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license with a fluoroscopy permit, and secure the permit within twelve months of hire if the graduate was before January 1, 2011.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – not required for this position.
