Job Summary

The incumbent performs general radiographic procedures as well as more complex procedures according to written or transcribed verbal orders of a physician within the scope of his/her certification. Demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Technologist can be required to participate in the department’s call schedule to ensure coverage of weeknights, weekends and holidays. May access medication storage areas in accordance with their job function and hospital policy.

As our Special Proc Technologist, you will be a vital clinical professional, applying specialized X‑ray energy for patient diagnosis or treatment. You will meticulously perform complex radiological procedures and techniques, producing high‑quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. You will ensure patient safety, comfort, and accurate positioning, operating advanced equipment with precision and upholding imaging standards. Success requires strong technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, deep understanding of radiation safety, and a compassionate, patient‑focused approach.

Required Qualifications

• Five (5) years combination of education and experience
• Medical Radiographer CA
• Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech CA
• BLS from AHA
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR)
• Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and Fluoroscopy (RTTF) licenses
• Displays competency in general radiology and one of the following modalities: Angiography, Special Procedures – MRI, CT, Mammography
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging, medical terminology, principles of equipment operation and care, diagnostic procedures, radiation safety, PACS, contrast materials
• Ability to minimize radiation exposure, perform accurate and safe radiographic procedures, recognize and respond to allergic or life‑threatening reactions, interact courteously with patients and staff, maintain confidentiality, organise work assignments, maintain accurate records, operate information systems, work independently on‑call, and maintain a sterile environment

Pay Range

$74.69 /hour
