Job summary

Dameron Hospital in Stockton, CA is seeking a part-time radiologic technologist to perform X-ray exams under the supervision of a radiologist. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating X-ray equipment, and processing images in CR/PACS.

Candidates must complete the Radiologic Health Sciences of California program, hold a California CRT license and Fluoroscopy Permit, and maintain BLS through AHA. ARRT license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Radiologic Health Sciences of California program.
  • California State CRT license and State Fluoroscopy Permit
  • Current BLS Certification through AHA required
  • ARRT license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares room, equipment, materials as needed for patients.
  • Cleans and disinfect X-Ray equipment.
  • Prepares barium and other contrast medium for x-rays.
  • Prepares patients for x-ray exam; explains procedures, transfers patients to table, positions the patient and assists patient at end of procedures.
  • Assists the Radiologist with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Follows prescribed techniques in administering x-ray radiation to patients.
  • Adheres to age specific policy for quality of x-ray radiation to patients.
  • Processes images in CR and PACS.
  • Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences to Radiologist and nurse.
  • Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties.
  • Takes mobile unit to patient's room, ER or the OR.
  • Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Takes call when requested.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: under the supervision of the Radiologist, the technologist is responsible for administering x-rays to patients. Operates X-ray equipment, processes images in computerized radiology(CR) and Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS), prepares examination room and patient for procedure. Stocks supplies and materials for the department. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures. Also, must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is a union position. See Essential Job Functions.
