Radiologic Technologist-PRN, Correctional Health

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) within 3 months of hire.
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) - Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR certification from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
Skills and Abilities
  • Time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment and patient-centered behaviors.
Responsibilities
  • Produce quality radiographs, participate in quality review, and adhere to safety and infection control standards.
  • Perform procedures accurately, document appropriately, and manage contrast administration and patient reactions.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies, interview patients, explain procedures, and answer questions.
  • Maintain equipment, perform quality assurance, and report malfunctions.
  • Transport patients, collaborate with healthcare team, and prioritize exams for efficient workflow.
  • Engage in professional development, maintain licensure, and serve as a resource and role model.
