Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Per Diem Radiologic Technologist to operate assigned scanners and image patients for diagnostic purposes. This per-diem role covers Richardson, Plano and McKinney centers, with varied hours to meet patient needs.

The ideal candidate will have AMA-approved radiography education, state licensure where required, CPR certification, and the ability to work independently while maintaining patient safety and accurate RIS records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Radiologic procedures independently.

Responsibilities

• Screens patient before exam for precautions or contradictions with two identifiers.
• Explains and prepares patients for Radiologic imaging procedures and positions patients for imaging.
• Performs routine and advanced Radiologic imaging with minimal supervision and maintains RIS records.
• Maintains equipment in good working order and ensures safety protocols are followed.
• Assists with HIPAA compliance and maintains a clean, organized work area.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Per Diem Radiologic Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Per Diem Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This is a per-diem position working various hours at our Richardson, Plano, and McKinney centers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Radiologic Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for Radiologic imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
3. Performs routine and advanced Radiologic imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts Radiologic scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
5. Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers and other team members and peers
6. Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
7. Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
8. Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
9. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
10. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
11. Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines

(5%) Radiologic Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
4. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
5. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Radiologic procedures independently
