Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist PRN to perform diagnostic imaging exams while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. The role involves coordinating daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring high image quality and adherence to policies.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, maintain ARRT R.T. (R) credential or be registry eligible, and obtain BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT R.T. (R) or registry-eligible.
  • BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • 1 year experience preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all facility healthcare professionals.
  • Strong technical knowledge of radiography equipment and patient positioning.

Responsibilities

  • Follow QA guidelines and HIPAA/privacy regulations.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of radiology equipment.
  • Perform radiographic examinations as ordered, ensuring high-quality images.
  • Prepare and position patients, adjusting exposure factors.
  • Maintain patient comfort and safety during transport and exams.
  • Administer contrast agents under Radiologist guidance and apply radiation protection.
  • Document patient care in records and address care-related issues.
  • Maintain a clean, professional environment and engage in ongoing professional development.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging exams while providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. This role involves coordinating daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of compassionate, holistic care that supports the rights and dignity of all patients.

What You'll Do in This Role:
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA privacy regulations and hospital policies.
  • Protect patients and employees by strictly adhering to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and emergency procedures for drug reactions or first aid.
  • Ensure the proper operation of radiology equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new techniques.
  • Perform all requested radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring high-quality images that meet site-specific standards and density requirements.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures, using immobilization devices and adjusting equipment controls to set proper exposure factors.
  • Maintain patient comfort and safety during transport and throughout the exam, reducing patient anxiety through clear explanations and answering questions.
  • Administer contrast agents under the guidance of the site Radiologist and practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
  • Document patient care services accurately in department records and address any care-related problems with appropriate decision-making.
  • Maintain a clean and professional working environment while participating in professional development through workshops and societies.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited education program in Radiologic Technology.
  • (ARRT R.T. (R)) or must be registry eligible
  • BLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • 1 year experience preferred
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all facility healthcare professionals and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of radiography equipment, patient positioning, and diagnostic imaging standards.

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is a 159-bed facility providing quality healthcare to Sumner and surrounding counties for more than 45 years. The facility is the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County, a Certified Primary Stroke Center and a designated Level III Trauma Center.
