Minimum Shift Requirements

Summary
Conduct routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data. Prepare for and assist the radiologist in completing intricate radiographic procedures, including contrast media and medication administration under state and federal regulations. Perform patient assessments, provide patient care, evaluate examination appropriateness, and assess image quality.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology, adhere to Departmental Protocols, obtain RT(R) credentials, and maintain Active Status. Assist in equipment and protocol troubleshooting.
- Ensure correct patient demographics, emulsion markers, and examination details. Critique, orient, and save images, transmit QA‑ed images to PACS, document completion or cancellation in RIS, maintain image equipment, and report issues.
- Conduct routine procedures and acquire diagnostic data efficiently while ensuring consistent high‑quality images.
- Review orders and images, correlate patient demographics, maintain a clean environment, document incidents, and advise supervisor of improvement opportunities.
- Use RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS to access and document procedure status, modify orders, complete exams, QC, and transmit to PACS.
- Verify patient identity, history, pregnancy status, assess physical condition, develop action plans, address emergencies, and ensure patient safety.
Education Requirements
- Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. If degree incomplete, must complete within 90 days of hire.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligible and become registered within one year. Maintain status and CE annually.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider.
Professional Experience Requirements
- No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
- Knowledge of radiation protection, safety, electrical safety, infection control, TB, and standard precautions.
