Job Overview:

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic medical radiographs within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental quality control standards. Responsible for reporting safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • NJ state licensure
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS through American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem
  • Schedule varies based on department needs
Essential Functions:
  • Address patient and staff concerns
  • Adjust technical factors to minimize radiation while ensuring quality
  • Assist in patient movement and department orientation
  • Assist physicians with contrast materials
  • Check equipment, supplies, and accessories regularly
  • Review requisitions for special instructions
  • Complete paperwork and data entry
  • Comply with standards and confirm patient identity
  • Consult with physicians regarding examinations
  • Operate and understand radiographic equipment
  • Perform proper positioning and develop processed films
  • Educate patients and families as appropriate
  • Perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable procedures
  • Report equipment issues and review radiographs for quality
