Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to safely operate imaging equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality radiographs with proper protection measures.

The role requires ARRT registration, LSRT radiology licensing, and current BLS certification through ILCOR courses. Candidates must work well with patients of all ages and contribute to PACS study acquisitions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiological technology program.
  • ARRT registered in Radiology and LSRT state license in Radiology (new grads may present temporary LSRT license).
  • Current BLS certification through ILCOR courses with manikin check off.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate radiographic equipment and position patients for optimal images.
  • Apply radiation protection devices and select technical factors for quality radiographs.
  • Track patient studies and manage PACS acquisitions.
  • Perform other delegated tasks to support the Radiology Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD

Summary of the Job: Responsible for the safe manipulation of radiographic equipment, positioning of patients, use of radiation protection devices, selection of technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality radiographs, the tracking of patient studies and PACS acquisition of the study performed. This employee may be asked to perform any other delegated tasks related to the proper function of the Radiology Department.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited radiological technology program.
  • A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology & LA state licensed in Radiology by LSRT New graduates may present a temporary LSRT license.
  • Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
  • Must possess strong guest relations skills.
Physical Demands:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) – lifting, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%)- carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking Occasionally (1%-33%)- climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching
