Job description

Lawrence General Hospital is offering a sign-on bonus for a Radiologic Technologist.

*** Up to $18,000 for full-time positions ***

As the Radiologic Technologist, you will provide radiologic care to patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomical and physiological disorders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures; demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices, according to department policy and procedure.
2. Receive consultation requests, check for special instructions from the requesting physician, and consult with the radiologist as necessary.
3. Greet patients pleasantly, confirm their identification using two identifiers (name and date of birth), and introduce yourself.
4. Explain the examination procedure thoroughly to the patient and their family if present.
5. Assist in moving patients to and from wheelchairs, carriers, and radiographic tables.
6. Evaluate every image before sending it to PACS for technical quality, proper patient positioning, correct identification, and proper markers, with no omissions annually.
7. Update patient exam files; record unusual conditions or limitations, document film usage, and confirm billing information 100% of the time. Perform other related paperwork as needed.
8. Assist with the administration of contrast media when necessary, practicing aseptic techniques.
9. Maintain inventory of supplies for assigned rooms, rotate stock systematically, and remove outdated items.
10. Telephone results when requested, with no more than one omission annually.
11. Promote a professional image by adhering to the dress code.

Required:

• Massachusetts Rad Tech licensed and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Experience preferred. Proficiency in all areas of radiography, including routine diagnostic, operating room, portable, trauma, and fluoroscopic procedures.
