Job Description

Responsible for x-ray services as needed

  • Perform x-ray services for patients under the direction of the clinical provider, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment across all age groups from newborn to elderly.
  • Ensure patients are properly positioned on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
  • Assist patients, including pushing patients in wheelchairs.
Patient Registration
  • Conduct patient registration, securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verifying insurance and patient eligibility.
  • Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments.
  • Coordinate provider referrals to specialists.
  • Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.
Patient Preparation and Rooming
  • Inform technical staff of patient flow.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including conducting interviews to verify information, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of visit.
  • Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) and escalate critical cases to the provider.
  • Conduct point of care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide information to the provider.
Stocking
  • Maintain supplies and cleanliness of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area.
  • Complete order sheets to maintain inventory and check expiration dates.
Administrative
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
  • Answer phone calls, handle postal correspondence, and ensure reception is well maintained.
  • Conduct follow-up calls for patient care.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out and securing the building.
  • Perform daily controls, calibrations, and maintenance of equipment, and document these activities.
