Job description

Part Time Radiologic Technologist Position

Benefit Eligible

Up to $7,500 sign-on bonus

Shift: PT 20 hours per week, 7a-3:30p. This position works rotating weekends and some holidays.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Operate radiographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic radiographs and images following established standards and radiation safety practices.
  2. Work directly with patients, radiologists, physicians, and fellow associates.
  3. Follow established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Genesys Regional Medical Center.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care to the age group(s) served.
  5. Deliver quality patient care, including the use of universal precautions, sterile techniques, maintaining patient confidentiality, and practicing appropriate medical ethics.
  6. Produce quality radiographs by selecting appropriate technical factors, correctly positioning the patient, selecting contrast media as requested, and manipulating equipment properly.
  7. Obtain portable radiographs in various nursing units, operating rooms, and emergency departments based on patient information.
  8. Represent the hospital positively both within and outside the work area, practicing good guest relations.
  9. Ensure proper patient identification, correctly label finished radiographs, and enter procedures into the hospital management system.
  10. Maintain adequate radiation protection measures.
  11. Stay current on new developments, trends, equipment, and procedures through continuous education.
  12. Assist in training radiology students and new employees.
  13. Act as a technical resource for radiology residents and radiologists.
  14. Exercise independent judgment in the absence of management, report equipment malfunctions, and keep work areas clean and organized.
  15. Maintain necessary supplies and assist with clerical duties and patient transportation when required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Good guest relations skills, communication skills, tact, diplomacy, and dependability.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling patient information.
  • Physical and mental capability to perform all duties.
  • Neat personal appearance and adherence to hospital dress code.
Essential Functions
  • Mobility, manual dexterity, and ability to assist, move, transfer, and lift patients.
  • Ability to operate radiology equipment and computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, follow directions, problem-solve, and teach.
  • Work setting involves standing, walking, and exposure to hazards and communicable diseases.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed an accredited 2-year radiology program.
  • Experience preferred but not required.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from ARRT within 6 months of hire or certification by ARCRT, with renewal required.
