Performs a variety of related digital image management tasks as necessary, including exceptions and annotations. Maintains competency by demonstrating a complete working knowledge of all imaging equipment and supplies, including but not limited to mammography unit- digital 2D or 3D (tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound, invasive procedure supplies and/or trays. Responsibilities include:
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and/or participating in professional societies. Completes all mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner and may assist with training of Mammography students.
High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an approved course in Radiologic Technology, one year of experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures, and completion of an approved program in advanced modality or one year of experience in advanced modality. A bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology may substitute for the required experience in conducting routine diagnostic procedures. Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Diagnostic Radiology is required. Advanced registry is highly preferred and may be required for certain modalities.
