Job Summary: Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in three or more modalities in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Looking for an experienced Interventional technologist, with preferred experience in Vascular IR or Cardiac Cath Lab. Willing to train the right qualified candidate.
Job Description:
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
- Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes as appropriate.
- Prepares equipment and supplies.
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
- Addresses image quality issues, including repositioning and repeating procedures.
- Enters, transmits, and reports exam findings.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in Interventional, Peripheral Vascular, and Cardiac Catheterization procedures, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Radiological Technology School/Program beyond high school required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Radiographer (RT) required.
- American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) certification required.
