Responsibilities

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist I for a PRN variable shift role, internally referred to as our Radiology Tech I at Providence Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. Focus will be on conducting diagnostic X-ray procedures. This involves operating X-ray equipment to capture images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. An important role in assisting healthcare providers by producing high-quality images that aid in diagnosing medical conditions and formulating treatment plans for our patients. This position is on a PRN basis.

Shift’s Available: Variable

Employment Type: PRN

Shift Hours: 8 hour shift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic, cat scan, or other procedures according to department protocols, while cross training as a CT Tech.
  • Responsible for ensuring that X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Interact with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations.
  • Maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical history.
  • Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
  • Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Responsible for processing and transmission of images to PACS.
  • Participate in performance improvement (PI) and quality control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining performance improvement programs (PIP).
  • Maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
  • Appropriate national certifications.
  • Current BLS accredited by the AHA.
  • Familiar with State and Federal regulations.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program (accredited by JRCERT preferred).
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • One year of acute clinical radiography preferred.
