Experience Radiologic Technologist needed to work on a PRN basis in support of our excellence in patient care at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic radiology procedures by utilizing equipment and employing techniques appropriate to all ages served, in accordance with accepted standards of practice. Demonstrates expertise in limiting radiation exposure to patients and staff. Assists radiologists and qualified staff with invasive procedures, patient scheduling, clerical tasks, and image processing.

Education/Experience

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program. Minimum six months experience preferred. One year experience with patients preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Registered and certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must become registered within 12 months of hire if eligible. BCLS (CPR) certification required.

Essential Functions
  • Adheres to hospital standards and policies, participates in departmental training, and contributes to service quality.
  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per North Carolina regulations, maintaining proper credentials.
  • Coordinates activities with team members to meet objectives.
  • Ensures emergency equipment readiness and responds appropriately to emergencies.
  • Maintains knowledge of procedures, equipment, and supplies, ensuring availability and readiness.
  • Accurately records patient data and archives images.
  • Performs point of care testing as assigned, complying with policies and regulations.
  • Provides education and consultation to healthcare personnel and patients.
  • Provides emergency on-call coverage as needed.
  • Delivers age-appropriate care according to guidelines.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact professionally with physicians, nurses, and staff.
  • Effective scheduling and prioritization skills.
  • Clinical skills for recognizing and responding to patient needs.
  • Adaptability to workload changes and demands.
