Position Objective
Performs routine radiographic procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the specific needs of the patient.
Essential Job Duties
- Processes radiographic films; verifies demographics and technical information; checks technical quality of films.
- Completes procedures efficiently, ensuring all pertinent information is correctly displayed on images and paperwork.
- Constantly assesses patient's condition and administers first aid as required; assists physicians in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Provides radiation protection to all patients in compliance with safety standards; attends required radiation safety courses.
- Collaborates with management to recommend improvements, report issues, and enhance patient care, technical quality, and administrative functions.
- Monitors supplies and notifies management of shortages; stocks assigned areas and monitors expiration of supplies.
- Assists with clinical education of rotating students and in orienting new staff.
- Performs additional duties such as billing, quality assurance, etc.
- Maintains current license, CME credits, and participates in relevant educational activities as required by regulations.

Educational and Certification Requirements
- Successful completion of a two-year AMA-approved radiologic technology program.
- Current certification by ARRT in diagnostic radiography.
- Current Maryland state licensure.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Heavy work involving exertion of up to 100 pounds; reasonable accommodations available. Employees are not expected to be exposed to blood-borne pathogens under normal circumstances.
