Job summary

Reading Hospital in Reading, PA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures and produce images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. You will apply knowledge of anatomy and radiographic technique while maintaining radiation safety.

Responsibilities include preparing, administering and documenting contrast media and medications as required, and delivering compassionate patient care with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-high school radiography program.
• BLS certification is required.
• ARRT certification or eligibility and successful examination prior to start date.

The Radiologic Technologist

• Perform radiographic procedures, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner.
• Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. They maintain knowledge of radiation protection and safety.
• Prepare, administer and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and institutional policy.
• Remain sensitive to the physical , cultural and emotional needs of the patient through excellent communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills.
