Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• The Radiologic Technologist provides diagnostic imaging services using radiographic and fluoroscopic technology to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• This role performs imaging procedures, image processing, and related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by a radiologist or licensed independent practitioner.
• The Radiologic Technologist applies professional judgment, upholds high ethical standards, and adapts to varying patient conditions to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality exams.
• Executes ionizing radiation to patients to take x-ray images in the safest manner possible.
• Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed for patients daily.
• Participates in CQI activities and provides input for improvement.
• Provides directions to patients regarding radiologic exams.
• Provides education to patients regarding their ordered exams.
• Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment after each exam.
• Maintains adequate and proper records.
• Prepares barium and other chemical mixtures for x-rays.
• Must pass initial competency test and yearly competency testing thereafter.
• Will assume other duties applicable to the operation of the Radiology Department as needed.
• Demonstrates flexibility of working hours to assure 24-hour departmental coverage, which may include on-call duty.
• Must maintain current BLS.
