Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a skilled Radigraphist to perform diagnostic imaging with strict adherence to protocols, safety, and patient care standards. The role requires ARRT Radiography (R) certification and IEMA accreditation, with BLS certification also expected.

You will contribute to a safe imaging environment, administer contrast as needed, and maintain meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification.
• IEMA Accreditation is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam setup, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Upholds all safety standards (radiation, MRI as applicable, infection prevention) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members.
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth.
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs.
