Job summary

Adventist Health Portland seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate x-ray equipment, position patients, and adjust exposure settings for diagnostic images. You will ensure patient safety and image quality while coordinating with physicians and PACS workflows.

The role requires ARRT-R, OR licensure, and BLS certification; an associate degree is preferred. This on-site position supports our imaging services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology; preferred.
• ARRT-R radiography certification required.
• OBMI Radiologic Technologist License required in OR.
• BLS certification required per AH policy.

Job Summary:

Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists â€" Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
• Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License: Required in OR
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

• Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Prepares equipment for use as needed. Prepares examination rooms for patient exams. Positions patients for imaging exams. Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
• Produces diagnostic images. Documents exam information. Reports important information to the physician.
• Verifies exams on PACS.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
