Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics in Nashville, TN is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide radiologic images as directed by physicians, nurses, or clinicians. This full-time role emphasizes safe imaging, equipment upkeep, and patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Radiology program.
  • ARRT license required.
  • Full-scope X-ray Operator license from the State of Tennessee required.
  • Experience taking and transmitting radiographic images.
  • Familiarity with EMR and PACS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients to radiology rooms and verify orders in EMR.
  • Prepare patients and position them for imaging with minimal discomfort.
  • Obtain clear radiographs while following safety protocols and using dosimeters.
  • Transfer and archive images in PACS; prepare discs if requested.
  • Maintain radiology equipment and perform routine safety checks.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines; maintain patient confidentiality.

NO NIGHTS, NO WEEKENDS AND NO HOLIDAYS!The Radiologic Technologist will provide radiologic images as directed by the physician, nurse, or other clinician, maintain radiology equipment and supplies and assist physicians and clinical staff as needed. This position is a FULL-TIME position.Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics offers a competitive compensation package for full-time members including: Three Medical Plans Options (your choice of a PPO or HDHP), Dental and Vision Coverage, Health Savings Account (with HDHP), Employee Assistance Program, Company Provided Basic Life, AD&D and Long-Term Disability, Voluntary Life and Short-Term Disability, PTO Accrual, Paid Holidays, and 401(k) + employer match.MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTSPatient ServicesGreet and escort patients from the exam room to the appropriate radiology roomVerify that the examination order was submitted correctly in EMR prior to performing the x-ray examinationPrepare patients for x-ray by positioning them in the way that causes the least discomfort; instruct patients how to position their body appropriately, hold their breathObtain clear images of the anatomy requested by the provider, using appropriate safety precautions and wearing protective equipment and radiation dosimeter at all timesCapture, process and transmit images according to protocolReturn patient to the exam room after the x-ray examination is completeRadiologic Preparation and Equipment MaintenanceImport outside exams into the PACS system as they are delivered to the practiceTake inventory of radiology stock and communicate supply shortages to supervisorEnsure radiology equipment is in good working order and notify supervisor of any maintenance issues immediatelyPerform routine maintenance and safety checks on x-ray equipment to ensure that equipment complies with regulatory requirementsClean the exam room after each patient examTransfers images to a disc for use outside the office, as requestedMaintain written safety procedures for the use of radiologic equipment, as well as proper procedures for patient safety; create written procedures as neededComply with all OSHA mandates for dosimeter readings and quality assuranceOtherMaintain knowledge of the specific anatomical views preferred by each providerParticipate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliationsMaintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA, OSHA and other compliance guidelines established by regulation or by the practiceMaintain detailed knowledge of EMR and other computer software as it relates to job functionsAttend annual CPR, OSHA, and risk management training programsPrepare for and attend all staff and team meetings as requestedAdhere to the Team Member Handbook and other policies and procedures as they are developedPerform other tasks and projects assigned by managerKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma requiredSuccessful completion of an accredited Radiology programARRT license requiredFull-scope X-ray Operator license from State of Tennessee requiredExperience taking and transmitting radio-graphic imagesWorking knowledge of managed care basics and experience working with a managed care and Medicare populationWorking knowledge of electronica medical records and word processing softwareComfortable using email and interacting with Internet applicationsKnowledge of practice management and word processing softwareWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
