Job summary

Boone Health Medical Group in Independence, KS, is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist to perform general diagnostic radiographic exams for adults and children. You will explain procedures, position patients, and ensure safety, while assisting radiologists and maintaining accurate records in EMR and PACS.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate degree in Radiography, ARRT(R), and BLS, with at least 4 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiography required.
• 4+ years of radiography experience.
• ARRT(R) certification required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general diagnostic radiographic exams in X-Ray (including fluoroscopy and intra-operative imaging) for adults and/or pediatrics.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure safety and comfort.
• Verify orders, review patient history, and confirm reason for exam.
• Position patients properly and set up equipment per protocol to obtain diagnostic images.
• Administer contrast under radiologists’ supervision when applicable.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and maintain safety using ALARA guidelines.
• Document procedures in EMR and manage imaging data in PACS.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other health professionals.

# **Job Description****Additional Job Information*** 24 hours per week* Tuesday, Thursday & Friday* 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.* Holiday rotation required by department* Benefits start first day of employment!### ## **Overview****Job Summary:** Responsible for performing general diagnostic radiographic exams in an acute care setting to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. **Job Responsibilities:*** Performs imaging examinations in X-Ray, including general radiography, fluoro studies, and intra-op imaging; May also be trained to perform QC or provide back-up coverage in Pain Clinic.* Explains procedures to patients and maintains a safe and comfortable environment; Provides necessary pre- and post- procedure patient care.* Completes review of patients’ chart to verify exam orders and validate reason for exam.* Interview patients regarding personal history, implanted devices, contrast allergies, etc.* Practices proper patient positioning and exam protocols to achieve diagnostic quality imaging.* Adjust, maintain, and operate imaging equipment by following applicable protocol parameters to acquire high-quality, diagnostic images.* Administer contrast under radiologists’ supervision, when applicable.* Monitor patients for adverse reactions and ensure safety throughout the procedure.* Implement radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, by adhering to ALARA guidelines.* Maintain accurate records within clinical documentation support systems; Manages imaging data in PACS and documents procedures in EMR.* Follows best practice safety guidelines as established by ACR and other regulatory bodies.* Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.* Provides clinical instructions and evaluations for students.* Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Degree: Associate degree in Radiography* Experience: 4+ years* Supervisor Experience: None required**Licenses & Certifications:*** R.T.(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).* BLS required within 30 days of employment.**Working Conditions:*** Chemical Substances* Direct Patient Care* Exposure to Blood/Fluid* Hazardous Materials* Infectious Diseases* Radiation**Work Shift**Day Shift (United States of America)**Legal Statement**The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position.
