Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedics in Philadelphia seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiographic equipment and produce diagnostic images per physician protocols. You’ll assist with epidural procedures and help ensure ALARA safety standards are followed.

You will greet patients, obtain histories, explain exams, shield appropriately, and maintain high-quality imaging and patient comfort during procedures in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Active, valid ARRT registration and continued certification.
• Knowledge of x-ray procedures and epidural procedures.
• Ability to operate radiography equipment and processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
• Obtains the patient's history to ensure proper scheduling.
• Explains the exam and answers questions to put the patient at ease.
• Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects.
• Provides radiation protection for patient, self, and others per ALARA standards.
• Selects proper technical factors and produces quality radiographs.
• Critiques radiographs and makes necessary adjustments.
• Assists during fluoroscopic procedures (e.g., epidural steroid injections).
• Reports equipment problems to supervisor and vendor.
• Participates in training of new employees.
• Maintains safe radiologic practice per QA policies.
• Exemplifies organizational culture.
