Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. If degree is not yet complete, candidates may be selected contingent on completing a degree program within 90 days of hire.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. (Registry eligible candidates must provide a copy of diploma from accredited program.) Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Radiologic Technologist I: No prior experience required.
  • Radiologic Technologist II: Two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Meet the requirements outlined in the Radiologic Technologist II Competency Checklist and maintain Technologist II additional duty/duties annually.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data.
  • Prepares for and assists the radiologist in completion of intricate radiographic procedures including preparation and administration of contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Performs patient assessments and provides patient care.
  • Evaluates the appropriateness of examination and assesses the quality of radiographic images.
