Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program; degree completion within 90 days may be required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible and register within 1 year of hire; provide program diploma if registry-eligible.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology and adheres to UNC Healthcare System protocols; obtain and maintain RT(R) credentials and assist with equipment and protocol troubleshooting.
• Verify patient demographics, order accuracy, and image labeling; transmit QA-ed images to PACS and document procedures in RIS.
• Conduct routine radiology procedures and tests to acquire diagnostic data with quality images.
• Perform timely examinations, ensure accuracy of information, review schedules, maintain a safe, clean work environment, and communicate improvement opportunities.
• Utilize RIS, PACS, and HIS to access data, modify orders as needed, and document procedure status.
• Assess patient condition, verify pregnancy status before radiation, provide appropriate patient care, and respond to emergencies.
