Overview

Coordinates and organizes the Radiology Technology staff and procedure flow for assigned specialty service(s) in the Procedure Center; Coordinates education activities for staff; provides clinical expertise; fulfills a leadership role by taking responsibility for operations as they relate to the radiologic technologists.Responsible for procedures and protocols relating to equipment in the department. Responsible for evaluation of department radiologic technologist direct reports in conjunction with the manger; serves as a liaison between staff and administration
Qualifications

Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA); Registered in Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Certificate of Completion: Radiologic Technology; Associate's Degree: Related Field, Work Experience: Carle Rad Tech in invasive lab
Responsibilities

Coordinates education and orientation for staffThe Invasive Radiologic Coordinator coordinates the daily activities of the assigned specialty service(s) in the Procedure Center. Fulfills a leadership role by taking responsibility for monitoring and developing efficient daily work flow for assigned service line. Collaborates and partners with leadership, nursing, and ancillary departments across the organization. Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for all cases. Provides direct support to the Physicians and staff who are performing patient care. Responsible for obtaining and updating all Physician Preference Cards for new and existing physicians. Effectively communicates with leadership, promoting the smooth operation of the service line.Maintains/completes competency checklist specific to service line, to include capital and disposable equipment communication and process.Responsible/Accountable for procedure suite efficiency related to service line (s) to Include: a) on time starts b) Reviews future procedure schedule to ensure appropriate equipment/supplies are available for all cases in collaboration with the Inventory Coordinator.Responsible/Accountable in collaboration with the Unit Educator for staff education and training related to Service Line Specific Work flows, Capital Equipment, and disposables.Responsible/Accountable for service line equipment needs, in collaboration with the providers and capital/disposable equipment buyer.Responsible/Accountable for staff and physician satisfaction related to service line, facilitating a smooth process for every patient.Maintain a reasonable supply inventory for procedure rooms/assigned service line.Maintains applicable policies, procedures, and job aides.Participates in special projects and committees as assigned. Participates on the Radiation Safety Commitee.Provides performance appraisals for Radiologic Technologist staff.Coordinates and develops department simulations, on a quarterly basis.Responsible for the training of new staff, either directly or coordinating with assigned preceptor to ensure success of new hiresResponsible for the education and adherence to the principles of radiation safety within the procedure labsCollaborates with the physicians for program growth and development. Coordinates education and competencies for staff in cooperation with the manager and educator. Ensures the supplies are available for procedures to be performed. Ensures staff schedule supports the procedure schedule. Provides input on procedure schedule feasibility. Assist physician during procedures as the scrub, circulator, or monitor person as needed Takes call for off hours procedures and access site management Floats to other modalities within the department including EP, IR, Prep and Recovery, etc., as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $35.54per hour - $61.13per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.Carle Health offers a comprehensive benefits package for team members and providers.
