Job summary

Carle Health in Bloomington, IL is seeking an Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist to join our Cath Lab team. The role administers contrast, assists with procedures, and ensures patient safety.

Requires ARRT radiography, ACLS, BLS, IL IEMA license and an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology. Relocation bonus and $10,000 sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 1 year (AHA)
• Registered in Radiography (ARRT)
• BLS within 30 days (AHA)
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiography (IEMA)
• Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology

Responsibilities

• Administers contrast material per physician's request and manages reactions
• Anticipates setup and supplies for invasive procedures
• Assists with inventory and supplies
• Verifies patient identity and chart accuracy
• Compiles clinical information for labs and pathology
• Administers medications per scope of practice
• Documents accurately and completely
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort and safety
• Performs essential functions of Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist
• Works on-call and/or variable shifts as needed
• Floats to procedural areas as required
• Maintains sterile field during procedures
• Assesses allergies and patient conditions
• Acts as scrub/monitor during procedures
• Assists physician during interventional procedures
• Can take call after orientation

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered in Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
• Education: Associate's Degree: Radiologic Technology
• Work Experience:

Responsibilities

• Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
• Anticipates set-up and needs for invasive procedures.
• Assists with inventory/supplies.
• Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
• Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.
• Administers medication in compliance with scope of practice.
• Documents accurately and completely.
• Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
• Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist.
• Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
• Required to float to all procedural areas.
• Maintains a clean and neat work area.
• Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging, physiological monitoring, and related equipment; Performs basic troubleshooting for this equipment.
• Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
• Administers and with holds contrast and treatment as appropriate.
• Assess patients for allergies.
• Function as a scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures.
• Assists physician during interventional procedures.
• Able to take call after 6 months of orientation.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $35.62per hour - $61.27per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
