Radiologic Technologist - Cardiovascular Interventional Tech (Cath Lab)

Position Overview

Perform as a technologist and assist physicians with patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures including diagnostic heart catheterization, interventional cardiac procedures, electrophysiological procedures, device implantations, and peripheral vascular procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
• Current state licensure as a Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologist (WV, OH, MD, PA as applicable).
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• At least two years’ experience in a Cardiac/Vascular Interventional Lab.
• Proficiency in two or more specialties as defined by the department.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Dysthymia course through WVU Medicine within one year of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Medications preparation under physician orders.
• Maintain sterile technique during procedures.
• Monitor and document patient’s ECG and blood pressure, alert physicians to any changes.
• Assist with inventory management, documentation, and billing.
• Support patient safety and transport.
• Instruct radiography students and participate in departmental inventory.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods and lift/push/pull at least 40 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, body fluids, chemicals, and electrical hazards.
