Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a qualified Radiology Technologist to join the Lubbock Heart team in Texas. This full-time night position involves operating radiologic equipment, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining accurate patient records.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited program, possess ARRT registration, and ideally be cross-trained in CT. The role offers flexible scheduling and various incentives, making it a great opportunity for the right professional.

Qualifications

Radiology Technologist – join our Lubbock Heart team.

What You Will Do
  • Report to work station on time and remain at station until relieved or shift ends.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for x‑rays following established procedures.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  • Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis.
  • Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Follow confidentiality standards.
  • Work as a team member within the radiology department and all other departments.
  • Participate in standby for assigned modalities; when on‑call paged, make a prompt call to determine the study to be done, with travel time kept within 25 minutes.
  • Maintain single‑shirt uniforms clean, pressed, worn at all times unless directed otherwise.
  • Complete all necessary forms for each study and coordinate with the requesting physician; if absent, follow instructions on the request form/transmission and verify each order before beginning the exam.
  • Check arm band on each patient for proper identification.
  • Follow hospital policies for time and attendance recording.
  • Participate in quality improvement and quality control projects as assigned.
  • Follow departmental policies and protocols for each exam performed.
  • Maintain licensure and/or certification(s) for all modalities assigned.
  • Maintain supplies in the assigned area and follow ordering policies.
  • Participate in inventories of supplies as assigned.
  • Report mechanical or system problems to the Director or designee.
  • Demonstrate initiative in work habits while maintaining a professional demeanor with all hospital staff, guests, visitors, patients and physicians.
  • Efficiently complete all duties and work toward budgetary goals.
  • Be aware of incidents in the work area and report within 24 hours using the proper form(s).
  • Handle patient complaints in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Assist in developing new CPT codes for the department charge master.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures within assigned modalities.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Minimum of one year experience in an acute care facility.
  • Preferably cross‑trained in CT.
  • Minimum of ARRT registration in Radiography or medical Radiologic Technologist certification from the Texas Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of operation of assigned equipment through competency skills checklist(s).
